The Seventh-day Adventist Hospital is situated in Wiamoase, directly opposite Okomfo Anokye Senior High School, within the Sekyere South Municipal of the Ashanti Region.
In 1990, recognizing the growing healtheare needs of Wiamoase and its neighboring communities, the Wiamoase Area Agro-Forestry and Rural Development Association (WAARDA), in collaboration with members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Wiamoase, initiated efforts to establish a hospital.
A formal request for support was subsequently submitted to USAID (Ghana), highlighting the pressing development and health challenges faced by the local rural population. In response, USAID provided assistance through the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Ghana. Under the leadership of Pastor Stephen Antwi Boasiako, the then District Pastor of the – Wiamoase Seventh-day Adventist Church, the project received essential building materials including cement and roofing sheets.
By October 1996, the hospital was partially completed. The Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church then deployed healthcare personnel and supplied the necessary medical equipment to commence operations. The hospital was officially commissioned on 11th November 1996 by the U.S. High Commissioner to Ghana.
Since its inception, the facility has consistently delivered healthcare services to residents of Wiamoase and surrounding communities. It is registered as a Christian health facility under the Ministry of Health. While the Government of Ghana covers the salaries of most staff, a few are paid through the hospital’s internally generated funds.
The hospital operates under the Mountain View Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (Northern Ghana Union Mission) and is an active member of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG). It is currently the second most patronized health facility in the Sekyere South District, following Asamang S.D.A Hospital, and serves as the primary referral center within the Wiamoase Sub-District.
Its catchment area includes Wiamoase, Bepoase, Kokoteasua, Dome, Amenase, Bipoah, Afanamaso, Nobesu, Kofiase, Mprim, Boanim, and several surrounding villages.
